Hypogymnia subphysodes var. austerodioides Elix

  As var. subphysodes, but lobes 2–4 mm wide, irregularly divided, crowded and subcontiguous, placodiform at margins).
     
  Relatively common in temperate forests of W.A., S.A. and N.S.W., A.C.T., rarer in Vic. and Tas.; grows on dead wood and bark. Also in New Zealand.
